Ice Storm~February Fab Shop Hop~Ground Hog Day~Superbowl XLVIII~What I Am Working On

Wow, February started out like a bang for us.  We have about 1/2" of ice covering everything.  It is awesome as long as I don't have to get out in it.  Steve went to town yesterday afternoon and it took him 1 1/2 hours to get through the 10 miles to home.  But he made it safely and said it was more dangerous bringing the groceries in then driving!  Okay dear, whatever you say.  Thank you for going to the store and other stuff.

Just a quick note to remind you that the February Fab Shop Hop started today.  Tammy S. from Kansas won a nice prize in December.  Who knows, one of us might be lucky this month.  Shamefully, I did not get very far with last months hop.  :(  I let to much stuff get in the way, like taxes.

Sunday, Feb. 2nd is important in two ways:    It is also Ground Hog day.  I have no predictions on what Punxsutawney Phil will see, but we can watch it on TV or our PC if we want.  Phil makes his prediction around 7:25 a.m  EST

Superbowl XLVIII is going to be a wonderful time spent eating all this good junk food I am making and of course the Superbowl Commercials.  And the game.  I know who I want to win but did not get into any pools this year.  I am just going to sit here, watch and relax.  We are having summer sausage and cheeses, shrimp, cheese ball, vegetable tray, grape salad, and banana split cake.  Steve made Oreo balls, which he can have all of them (not my favorite) and chocolate covered peanuts.  I guess we will probably gain a pound or two.

BFF Marilyn and I worked on our BOM that we are making together.  This is her first quilt ever and I am making her do it all, from picking out the fabric, ironing, cutting, sewing, reading instructions, and pressing again.  I think she did a great job.  Only had to unsew one time.  Here is her block and mine is below hers.

She got all the calico out of my stash.  the basket body is a piece of fabric she picked up during our shopping spree last Saturday.  She did a great job of picking the combination.

This is a Mystery BOM from FQS with their fabrics.  Isn't it so springy and 30's looking?  I love it.

Have a great weekend.  Stay warm.  I'll be back sometime next week.
