The Early Bird Catches the Worm

Well whatever, I wasn't wanting a worm, not anymore then I was wanting to wake up at 4:30 a.m. and unable to go back to sleep.  But I crawled out of the bed and I'm glad I did, it was so beautiful outside with the full moon. I had my first cuppa on our back deck watching the animal world come to life, the birds singing, the squirrels chattering and the deer silently standing up and easing further into the woods hoping to find a safe place for the day.  Then the beauty was shattered by the sound of loud gunfire.

Deer Season Is Officially Open In Missouri.  

Now, don't get me wrong. I do not belong to PETA and I do deer hunt but the morning was so beautiful it was a shame to see it changed in the nanosecond of gunfire.  My desire to hunt this year diminished greatly.  I don't hunt for sport, we do eat the meat because it is one of the lowest cholesterol meats around alongside farm raised rabbit.  With Steve's heart disease we go for what is the best for him.. So today, I loaded my gun for nothing as I chose to watch the deer rather then shoot them.

I have been making lists, writing letters, checking the lists twice and then again. I have been visiting with some really very nice people and laying the groundwork for what is about to happen.
