Thanks for stopping by for my day of Dots on Dots. This has been on wild ride!!
It all started as a fun thing to do, I mean really, Dots on Dots! I loved the whole idea. So I started out and had this really sweet block of a stack of bowls that was right in the size guidelines. I finished the block, took a picture and proceeded to make a lovely table runner for another blog hop I participated in. Oh things were going along so beautifully. I was finally ahead of my schedule and feeling mighty "uppity" until "IT" happened! I bypassed going to a family get together because every time I go I end up coming home sick by catching whatever from one of the littlest cousins (4th generation to boot). Again, that "uppity" feeling was prevailing, I was just puttering along doing things like I wanted them. And then...............
Mr. Gwin arrives home from the family deal on Sunday, Monday morning I wake up to 'cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze, blow, curse, blow again.' Oh crap, he brought "IT" home with him! So I walk a broad path around him, scurry to the kitchen for coffee and realize, crud he made this and it may have germs, ugh no coffee, settle for diet coke. Sit as far away from him in the living room as I can, hoping hoping that I won't catch "IT". 18 hours later, "call the paramedics honey, I think I'm dying here"....I was so sick I couldn't even get out of bed. So I'll shorten this story with a bit of advice....Go Get Your FLU SHOT now, don't wait, it isn't worth it. Two rounds of antibiotics and lots of time in bed and I am back up on my feet and let me tell you, Mr. Gwin high-tailed it to the lake to work on the cabin and never looked back, he'd had enough of me!
Now about those Dots on Dots! I can't find the picture of the block, I don't want to make another block so I will show you my Dots on Dots table runner, which I think is quite cute thank you very much! And I will also show you my "ahem 'dotty' ahem" table cover that I also made (it's not really dotty but I like it and want to show you). :)
It all started here
and made it to here
and then this far
and here
here

Ta Da
and this is my "ahem" piece

ReplyDeleteFun dotty table runner with a great block. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better! I follow you on twitter - @CraftyMamaD - does that count as following you?
ReplyDeleteI personally love watching the leaves change color.

ReplyDeleteWhat a sad, sick story. I do love your table runner!
ReplyDeleteYour dotty bowl table runner is darling! I follow via email and goggle friends.
ReplyDeletePoor you - I'm still suffering the flu right now so I know how you feel! I am a new follower and love your table runner. I have those bowls on my list to make - they are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI love Fall as I can't stand the heat of summer, LOL! The changing of the leaves is fantastic to watch.
ReplyDeleteI love the crisp air and the weird light of the mornings - a pink glow almost. I also love the starting fresh aspect too - ingrained after years and years of starting shcool in September I suppose.
ReplyDeleteGreat tabel runner :)
I also follow Madame Samm. No twitter account so no 4th chance. Coffee black please and no thank you to the flu bug!
ReplyDelete1. I've added you to my google reader list! (all this bloghopping has made me the world champ of blog following, or at least I think so).....
ReplyDelete2. Nothing! I do not like fall, even though my birthday (the 25th) is in the fall. You always see those lovely crisp beautifully coloured leaves in pictures...That lasts about five minutes and then they become just a rain-sodden, trampled-on, nasty mess... It rains, the sky is grey, it is cold and windy and it gets dark early....Nope, I do not like fall!
ReplyDelete3. I have been following Madame Samm for a while now, which has got me in all this blog-hopping-trouble in the first place!
ReplyDelete4. Tweeted it and Facebooked it.....I just can't work out how to put a link here.... Find @heleengroot at Twitter and Heleen Groot on Facebook and you'll see!
ReplyDeleteLast one.....I really like your table runner and I hope you''re feeling well now.....
ReplyDeleteI love the dotty runner and the 'ahem' piece too!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I follow via GFC

ReplyDeleteWell, sweetie, I follow you every way I can without sitting outside of your house in an old beat-up car: via Bloglovin, on Twitter, etc. I'm glad to hear you're bouncing back. I have to avoid little kids, too, during flu season. Really, any time I'm around the younger bunch I know I'll come home and get sick the next day. And they look so innocent, the germy little darlings. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about fall is the combination of the colors, the woodsy scent, and the crispness in the air--the minute I step out the door, I know autumn has arrived when those three elemens come together. I just love it.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was on Madame Samm's mailing list already, but I went over and signed up again since I missed the news about this blog hop.
ReplyDeleteLove your dotty bowls. Fall is may favorite season...cooler temps, pretty leaves...love it all.
