Thanks to all of you for understanding my tiredness yesterday. OMGosh I thought the wheels of the car had permanently attached to my butt! And then to make that long trip today. It was a beautiful Celebration of Life. The Patriot Guard rode in on their motorcycles with flags flying and set up a flag brigade leading to the door. Leonard was a Vietnam veteran so it was a well deserved honor. The daughters had made a video memorial that was amazing and I could say that is when the tears started but they had already started when Judy rode in on the back of Leonard's Harley behind their oldest son Dennis, both fully outfitted in their Patriot attire and Harley gear. One of their children had done a beautiful oil of Leonard and Judy that was displayed with his Air Force helmet and Patriot vest and chaps. Leonard never met a stranger but had 100's of friends. He will be missed by many. I feel like I did alright through the Eulogy but the tears may have obscured some of my words. I wasn't the only one that cried though, we all did. We have plans to review all our videos and pictures, I know we should have many of them.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. It is so difficult to say good-bye to loved ones. It sounds like the celebration of his life was very memorable. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteIt is always especially touching when a service reflects the person to whom you are saying goodbye. It sounds like this did that beautifully. Many condolences.
