I was so happy when I found out that I was part of this fun sewing adventure. And I thought and thought "hmmm, bowls with borders, hmmm" and I decided that maybe it should be bowls without borders. Because they are stacked here and there and willy~nilly, twisted and turned, but never tumbling over, but maybe a spill or two. So the plans formed, were discarded, more plans, more discards and I finally decided that it was beyond my imagination. I went to the stash pile and purveyed my possibilities. Since you all know I am a bit wacky and silly, you will appreciate my choices. If you think you have spots in front of your eyes, you don't~~~~look again, it is dots on dots on dots on dots.
I do feel bad that I didn't get it finished but on the other hand I'm glad because I love it so much I am expanding it from the table runner to a table cover! This was very fun to do and I hope I am invited to do more. Thank you Madame Samm and Carol. Let's do this again sometime, sooner rather then later. Oh, I almost forgot the giveaway. One lucky winner will win a set of kitchen towels with some cutesy bowls with borders appliqued on them. Mr. Random. org will take care of you. Comments close at 9:00 pm Sept 3rd and winner will be announced on Sept 4th via email, here, twitter and facebook. You must be a follower of my blog to enter and leave a comment that you are and also comment on the Bowls With Borders over on Flickr by choosing your favorite one (and it doesn't need to be mine, there are many others I like better too)! Two comments and you are in. Don't forget to follow the other entries for today to see their designs.

Whoa, you are really up for a challenge - to make the bowls into a complete table cover! The runner is darling and I like that you've set the bowls at different angles.

ReplyDeleteYour dotty bowls are so cute! They will make a great table cover!
ReplyDeleteI love the background fabric...looks like the bowls are headed towards a bubbly kitchen sink! Actually, your tipsy bowls reminded me of the college dining room, where the dishwashers would get behind, and people would keep stacking the bowls higher and higher and they would get more twisty and tipsy...until one unlucky student would attempt just one more bowl...and the whole tower would crash to the floor, usually generating a round of applause!
ReplyDeleteJeanne!! What a great runner/table cover! Love all the dots, they are so fuu. I've only paper pieced once but I'd love to try again with this pattern. Glad to see you posting and sewing. Hope all is well. Missed You!
